For a group, it is one of the easiest races to package as a resort-style trip: stay on Yas Island for race convenience, or combine Abu Dhabi with Dubai and turn the season finale into a longer winter escape.

Where to stay
Yas Island
The race-first choice. You are close to Yas Marina Circuit, theme parks, restaurants, and event infrastructure. Race-week pricing can be high, but the convenience is difficult to beat.
Saadiyat Island
Better for a luxury beach-and-culture extension. It is farther from the circuit but works well if the group wants resort time and museums around the race.
Central Abu Dhabi / Corniche
A more urban base with larger hotel variety and city access. Build the Yas commute into each race day.
Dubai
Possible for travelers who strongly prefer Dubai, but commuting to Yas Marina for multiple sessions can make the weekend unnecessarily tiring. For most groups attending Friday through Sunday, sleep in Abu Dhabi and add Dubai before or after.
Getting to Yas Marina Circuit
Yas Island is close to Abu Dhabi's airport and connected by major roads. Race-week traffic controls, taxis, hotel shuttles, parking, and walking routes can change, so use the current promoter plan for your ticket zone.
If the group stays on Yas, the logistics are simpler. If you stay elsewhere in Abu Dhabi, decide in advance whether everyone will use one transfer plan or travel independently and meet at a named entrance.
A five-night finale itinerary
Thursday: Arrive, check into Abu Dhabi, dinner on Yas or the Corniche.
Friday: Practice, then explore Yas Island or take a relaxed evening rather than crossing the city.
Saturday: Qualifying, followed by dinner or official race-week entertainment.
Sunday: Season finale. Leave early and keep the post-race night flexible—championship celebrations and event traffic can reshape the schedule.
Monday: Beach, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, or move to Dubai for two or three nights.
Qatar + Abu Dhabi is the natural double-header
The Qatar Grand Prix takes place one week earlier. For a serious F1 group, the two events can become a Gulf itinerary rather than separate trips. Fly into Doha, attend Lusail, spend the midweek in the region, then finish at Yas Marina.
That structure also makes long-haul airfare easier to justify and gives non-race travelers more reasons to join.
