Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Claira ("we", "us", "our") is a group travel planning application operated at getclaira.app. If you have questions about this policy, contact us athello@getclaira.app.

2. What we collect

When you use Claira, we may collect:

• ▸Account information: name, email address, and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
• ▸Trip data: trip names, destinations, dates, travel preferences, budget ranges, and itinerary items you create.
• ▸Usage data: which features you use, pages you visit, and actions you take inside the app.
• ▸Device information: browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• ▸Communications: comments, notes, and messages you post within trips.
• ▸Invite data: email addresses or phone numbers you use to invite group members.
• ▸Imported confirmations: if you import a booking from a confirmation email or document, we store the original text you paste, attached to the booking it creates, so you can re-view it later. We automatically remove full payment-card numbers and card security codes (CVV/CVC) before storing, and we store text only — never file attachments or images.
• ▸Newsletter signups: if you choose to sign up for our travel-guide updates from a public page, we store the email address you submit and which page you submitted it from, so we can send you new guides. This is optional and separate from your account; you can ask us to remove it at any time.

3. How we use your data

• ▸To provide and operate the Claira service.
• ▸To enable group collaboration — sharing trips, votes, and itineraries with your invited group members.
• ▸To search for flights, restaurants, and activities based on your stated preferences and location.
• ▸To send notifications about trip activity (if you opt in).
• ▸To improve the product using aggregated, anonymized analytics.
• ▸To respond to support requests.

4. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• ▸With group members you invite to your trip — they can see trip names, destinations, votes, and the itinerary. Any original confirmation text you import is visible only to members of that trip, through authenticated access, and is never included in a public share link.
• ▸With third-party service providers who help us operate the app, including Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI features such as confirmation-email import and itinerary generation), Google Places (restaurant, activity, and hotel search), and Duffel and Amadeus (flight search). These providers process data only on our behalf.
• ▸With Resend (email) and Twilio (SMS) to send the notifications you have requested.
• ▸With affiliate partners — Expedia and Viator — when you choose to open an outbound booking or search link. That opens their site pre-filled with search details from your trip (such as destination, dates, and party size); we do not send them your account information, and any booking you make there is handled on their site under their own privacy policy.
• ▸If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Trip data is retained until you delete the trip or your account. Any original confirmation text you import is stored on the booking it created and is deleted automatically when you delete that booking or the trip — there is no separate retention period for it. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailinghello@getclaira.app.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use session cookies to keep you signed in. We may use product analytics tools (such as PostHog) to understand how people use Claira. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics tracking by contacting us.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

8. Children

Claira is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us athello@getclaira.appor use the account deletion option in app Settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Claira after changes means you accept the updated policy.
