Sultanahmet

A good group compromise: restaurants, bars, access to the historic peninsula, and more evening energy.
Beyoğlu / Taksim
Useful for nightlife, larger hotel inventory, and transport connections. Pick the exact street carefully because atmosphere changes quickly block by block.
Kadıköy
On the Asian side, with excellent food and nightlife and a more local feel. It may also make sense geographically for Istanbul Park, though race-day transport plans—not the map alone—should drive the decision.
Istanbul Park is not downtown
The circuit is on the Asian side of greater Istanbul, well away from the core tourist districts. That means this trip has two different geographies: stay where you want to experience Istanbul, then solve race transport separately.
Once official 2027 spectator plans are released, compare shuttles, private transfers, driving, and any event-specific public transport. For a group, a pre-booked vehicle can be appealing—but traffic around a sold-out F1 race can erase the advantage if the drop-off plan is unclear.
A future Istanbul F1 itinerary
Day 1: Arrive, Bosphorus-side dinner, early night.
Day 2: Historic Istanbul—Sultanahmet, Grand Bazaar, ferries, and food.
Friday: First circuit day and a test of the transport plan.
Saturday: Qualifying, then dinner closer to the hotel rather than crossing the city again.
Sunday: Race day at Istanbul Park.
Monday: Hammam, Bosphorus cruise, Kadıköy food crawl, or a slower recovery day.
Extension: Add Cappadocia, the Aegean coast, or another Türkiye destination if the group is already flying long-haul.
